Finding Our Voice


At the 2012 NHFA Conference/Retreat gathering we focused on asking and attempting to answer and solve some of the most critical questions and concerns that have emerged as we’ve taken up this sometimes controversial and ever-sacred work.

Responding to overwhelming requests for more time devoted to networking and planning, we designed a working weekend  allowing plenty of time for greeting old friends and making new ones. We:
  • honed our language and public relations skills
  • defined professional and business aspects of being a home funeral guide
  • worked together to devise best practices
  • explored ways to deal with difficult situations
  • shared and developed education and advocacy resources

We continue to learn from one another,
and hope you will join us at a future NHFA Conference.
