  • Returning to simply caring for our own at death
  • Assessing if a home funeral is a good fit for a family
  • Considering what to do at the time of death
  • Caring for the body - bathing, preparation & preservation for a home vigil
  • Reviewing the legal requirements for a family directed funeral
  • Engaging family and friends in the process
  • Considering green and eco-friendly burial options

Three breakout sessions:

1.  A foundational focus for those who are new to
home funerals with detailed information for
     how to provide after-death care
2.  An advanced focus and discussion for
     practicing home funeral guides about
problems experienced with home funerals and
     discussion of various solutions
3.  An industry specific focus for Funeral
Directors who are becoming involved with the
home funeral movement to explore how their
roles and services will differ when serving
     home funeral families

This training will be customized based upon
the audience interest and composition.
